Well-signposted trails lead through unspoilt countryside, past gently flowing streams, traditional mountain huts and secluded places of natural beauty. It soon becomes clear: hiking in the Allgäu helps you slow down, one step at a time.
e-Bike tours
Anyone who has always wanted to tackle mountain peaks by bike can hire an electrically assisted mountain bike in Oberstaufen. Those who would prefer not to set off entirely on their own on their first mountain tours can also book guided e-bike tours in the Allgäu. This provides extra confidence and offers an especially rewarding way to get to know the foothills of the Oberallgäu Alps.
An e-bike makes it possible to discover the varied landscape around Oberstaufen in an even more relaxed way than with a conventional touring bike. To avoid running out of power along the way, it is best to start with a fully charged battery. If this has not already been done at home, Oberstaufen now has a new e-bike charging station in a central location, next to the Tourist Information Office at the “Haus des Gastes”. Simply connect your bike using your own cable or borrow a suitable connection cable from the Tourist Information Office, where cables for the most common manufacturers are available.
The INTEREST Vitalhotel also provides a lockable bicycle storage room for secure bike storage.
New from 2025: Guests with Oberstaufen PLUS can hire an e-bike free of charge for one day per overnight stay, instead of only once every five days as before.

Winter Paradise
In winter, Oberstaufen transforms into a true paradise for winter sports enthusiasts. The region offers a wide range of activities, including skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, tobogganing and winter hiking.
Skiers and snowboarders can enjoy a total of 38 kilometres of well-groomed slopes across the region’s three ski areas: Skiarena Steibis, Hündle-Thalkirchdorf and the Sinswang ski lifts. Modern snowmaking systems help ensure reliable conditions, while ski schools and equipment hire services are also available.
Cross-country skiers can look forward to around 100 kilometres of groomed trails, including the illuminated Kalzhofen trail and the snow-sure Hädrich trails.
For winter hikers and snowshoe walkers, Oberstaufen offers numerous cleared paths through snow-covered landscapes. Tobogganing enthusiasts can enjoy the runs at Imberg and Hochgrat.
